I understand there has been confusion, and I want to be transparent given the attention this has received on social media.

The charge against me relates to a situation in 2024 involving a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old who were in a consensual relationship. When I became aware of the situation, I took steps to intervene, prevent it from continuing, and protect the 14-year-old. I also sought professional guidance in determining how to handle the situation and was mindful of the potential impact that public scrutiny and attention could have on those involved. However, I did not report the matter to law enforcement.

During this time, as I work to resolve this situation, I will be stepping away from the schools. Please know that the safety and well-being of every child has always meant a great deal to me and continues to be my highest priority. I have full confidence in the schools and staff, who remain deeply committed to caring for your children and ensuring a safe, supportive environment each day.
