Our Pre-Kindergarten program is thoughtfully designed to align with local public school standards, ensuring a seamless transition into Kindergarten. At Bright Minds Academy, we take pride in creating lessons that go beyond traditional teaching methods, offering exciting and engaging activities that encourage students to reach their full potential. By fostering both confidence and essential skills, our Pre-Kindergarten students are well-prepared to enter Kindergarten ready to excel and exceed expectations.
In our early learners program, children develop foundational math skills by associating objects with numbers before progressing to sight-based number recognition and rote counting. This approach helps lay the groundwork for a wide range of mathematical learning opportunities. As students advance, sight-based number knowledge and counting are introduced, allowing teachers to introduce basic addition and subtraction to those ready to move forward.
Our learning environment is designed to support students in developing proper speech patterns and addressing any developmental speech delays. Teachers guide students with verbal prompts and one-on-one attention, helping them practice enunciation and communication skills throughout the day.
Throughout the school year, Bright Minds Academy integrates Spanish language learning into weekly thematic activities. Students are introduced to simple Spanish phrases and vocabulary, which they apply throughout their daily routines. This approach fosters both language development and cultural understanding in our early learners.
Bright Minds Academy’s literacy curriculum emphasizes phonetic knowledge and skills before introducing sight-based reading and alphabet recognition. This method creates a strong foundation for early readers. Once students demonstrate proficiency with phonetic skills, sight-based words and alphabet knowledge are incorporated into their learning to further their literacy development.
At Bright Minds Academy, we prioritize open communication with families regarding students’ academic progress. Our team provides detailed progress reports three times a year, covering social and emotional development, mathematics, language, vocabulary, and literacy. These reports give families insight into their child’s academic journey and progress.
