Bright Minds Academy is a private preschool and Spanish learning center. After numerous parent requests and the community’s need for more quality early education programs, the childcare program was expanded to include infants and toddlers. With individualized attention, a nurturing environment and extracurricular activities, Bright Minds provides everything a child needs to excel in their early-childhood education and reaching development milestones.
Bright Minds Academy was established in 2014 and is locally owned and operated by Joanna Tejeda Lowe, a previously Texas certified bilingual educator with 10 years experience teaching in the Amarillo Independent School District.
Bright Minds Academy was opened in 2014 after Joanna was in search for a quality Pre-Kindergarten program for her own 4-year-old. After years of recognizing the need for Amarillo and Canyon residents to have an alternative to daycare before sending their child to Kindergarten, she took the leap to provide a safe and great place for children to learn.
Bright Minds Academy was established with the vision of creating a bilingual preschool program for the Amarillo area that teaches children to their full potential and prepares them for Kindergarten by following the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
Here you will find that children are welcomed and encouraged to explore their creativity. Not only will they begin to learn the Spanish language, but the activities will be based around the State of Texas’ PreKindergarten curriculum.
Driven by a passion for early childhood education, Joanna founded Bright Minds Academy after recognizing a gap in quality Pre-K programs for her own children. With over a decade of teaching experience, she created a curriculum focused on academic excellence, bilingual learning, and cultural appreciation.
